(10/23) The Stars won their division in the BSA Great Pumpkin Tournament this weekend going undefeated and outscoring their three opponents 12-4. Great offense by Mia Traverse who scored six goals on the day. Amada Seidl had three goals, Mckenzie Davidson scored twice and Emma Paris added one of her own. But the story of the day was a solid defense and ball control with outstanding performances from Morgan Rubelowski and Emily Brochhausen who cut-off numerous attacks. Azaria Bronson and Emma Swope played tenacious defense and exhibited their excellent passing skills. And another fantastic performance in goal by Sara Harder who stopped countless hard shots. Congratulations Stars on a great victory!

(10/22)  The Stars ended their season undefeated after working their way to a 3-3 tie with their sister team, the Sussex Heat. Both teams battled throughout the game a shot after shot was saved on both sides by tenacious defense and excellent goal-keeping. After the Heat scored late in the first, Emma Paris used her speed and footwork to find the net to even the game. The Heat answered with two quick goals near the end of the first period. In the second half, McKenzie Davidson was able to thread the tough Heat defense and close the gap on the contest. Emma Paris broke-away and scored her second goal of the game after some good passing by team members Natalie Zuzick and Katie Engstrom. Kudos the Stars defense for shutting out the hard-charging Heat in the second half - with great goal-play by Sara Harder. A fitting end to the season from two very good evenly matched teams. Great game and great season both Stars and Heat! Record (6-0-1).

(10/15) On a windy morning at the Armory, five powerful scores by five different girls lead to another win for the U9 Sussex Stars over the FC Jr. Hot Spurs 5-1. The first goal was an hard rebound by Sara Harder who pressured the defense and fought the goalie to put one in the back of the net. Later in the first half, Azaria Bronson stole a Hot Spurs goal kick and drove a booming shot through the defense. Sophia Schick scored on a rocket launch of her own to end the first half. Although the Spurs scored quickly in the second half, the Stars bounced right back through great defensive play by the whole team and extra hustle by Katie Engstrom and
Emily Brochhausen. Emma Paris dribbled through a line of defenders and scored early in the second period. McKenzie Davidson floated a shot over the goalie's head into the net to put the final stamp on a great game. All in all a really solid game from the whole Stars squad. Record (6-0).

(10/8) The U9 Stars extended their winning streak by beating the Wales Lizards 11-3. Scoring was led by a trio of multiple goal-makers: Emma “Peanut” Paris who had a season high four goals on the day, McKenzie Davidson earned her second hat trick of the season with three goals and Mia traverse added two of her own (one by dribbling past three defenders and the goalie). Natalie Zuzick and Amanda Seidl showed great passing skills while scoring goals of their own. Great play in goal from Emily Brochhausen and Emma Swope with super hustle on defense by Morgan Rubelowski and Sara Harder helped put the game out of reach. Good job Stars. Record (5-0).
(9/24) Another solid victory for the U9 Sussex Girls Stars this Saturday as the team came out on top against a hard-working KMU Galaxy team 8-1.  Once again the defense set the tone for the game keeping the ball down on the Galaxy's side of the field with great dribbling and passing by Natalie Zuzick and Morgan Rubelowski. Both Katie Engstrom and Azaria Bronson played solid in goal. The Stars also showed the best defense is a solid offense as Sophia Schick lit up the net with three incredible blasts all in the second period. McKenzie Davidson added a hat trick of her own while Mia traverse and Emma Swope each added solo shots.  Overall a great game Stars! Record (4-0).

(9/17) The Stars were on fire today besting the PSC Fire 10-0. Seven different Stars players scored in the high-powered, offensive game. Scoring was lead by Mia Traverse and Emma Paris who both had two goals apiece while Emma Swope, Amanda Seidl, Morgan Rubelowski, McKenzie Davidson and Sophia Schick each added a goal of their own. Great defense played by Stars goalies who managed another shutout game. Good job by the whole team. Record (3-0).

(9/14) On a chilly night at the Armory, the Stars and Heat collided in a classic Sussex battle from both teams.  Great defense was played by both teams with Emily Brochhausen, Katie Engstrom and Emma Paris playing solid in goal.  After an early goal by the Heat, the Stars struck back with a booming shot from Sophia Schick. The Stars had a lot of shots on goal but solid Heat defense stopped any from getting into the net.  In the second period the Stars outscored the Heat 2-1; with one goal from McKenzie Davidson and the second one with the help of the Heat themselves. In the end, while the Stars were technically victorious, the coaches call it a close tie from two very evenly matched Sussex teams. Record (2-0)

(9/10) It was an excellent first game of the season for the Stars who came away with a 9-0 win over a good Elm Grove Golden Eagles team. McKenzie Davidson and Amanda Seidl each added goals of their own to seal the deal on the game. Great defense was played by the whole team with excellent work in goal from Natalie Zuzick, Azaria Bronson and Sara Harder. Great hustle and effort by the whole team! Record (1-0).
