Sponsor: Anton's Salon M Spa 10/29/11 - U8 Sussex Flames vs. Elm Grove RocketsThe U8 Flames ended their Fall campaign with an exhilarating match against a very motivated Rockets squad from Elm Grove. The Flames got ahead early with goals by Madison Anderegg and Soumaya Drover and assists by Haley Dwyer and Emma Faulstich. Late in the half the Rockets narrowed the margin to bring the score 2-1 at the whistle. The second half was similarly close with players from both teams flying after the ball. Two solo-goals by Anderegg were not enough to overcome an impressive 4-goal effort by the Rockets leading to a 5-4 final score in favor of the visiting Elm Grove team and the first loss for the Flames for the 2011-2012 season. 10/22/11 - U8 Sussex Flames vs. Sussex ThunderThe Sussex Soccer Club held their bi-annual U8 girls intra-squad match today at Armory Park. In the first half, the Flames showcased their cross-field passing skills with excellent team work to get the ball close to the net. Their persistence with this tactic paid dividends with goals from Leah Balsbaugh (Emma Faulstich asst.), Emma Faulstich (Ella Bins asst.), Maci Bins and Rosemary Eesley leading to a 4-1 half-time score. The second was a close affair with Madison Anderegg and Haley Dwyer scoring solo goals and the Thunder getting a goal to make the final score 6-2 for the Flames. 10/15/11 - U8 Flames vs. U7 StarsThe U8 Flames played another mismatched intrasquad game today in windy and cold conditions. The U7 stars struggled to find the net while goals by Ella Bins (1), Maci Bins (4), Emma Faulstich (5) and Madison Anderegg (4) resulted in a 14-0 victory for the senior team. 10/11/11 - Flames vs. FC JR GalaxyIn their second straight shut-out, the U8 Sussex Flames put on another offensive and defensive clinic against the FC Junior Galaxy from Menomonee Falls. First half goals by Leah Balsbaugh, Ella Bins, Maci Bins and a double by Emma Faulstich gave the Flames a 5-0 lead at the break. Ella and Emma both stole the show in the second half by completing hat-tricks. Additional goals by Maci and Rosemary Eesley and assists Soumaya Drover and Haley Dwyer brought the scoreline to 10-0 at the final whistle. 10/3/11 - Flames vs. BlastersThe U8 Sussex Flames played their closet game this season in an aggressive competition against the Menomonee Falls U8 Blasters. Although both teams had numerous opportunities, the net remained elusive for both teams until the 40 minute mark when Ella Bins opened the scoring. In the next 5 minutes Bins found the net again as did Haley Dwyer giving the Flames a 3-0 advantage. Emma Faulstich scored in the fourth quarter, along with a well-deserved goal by the Blasters late in the 4th to close out the match with a 4-0 at the whistle. This is the 4th consecutive win for the Flames. 10/1/11 - Flames vs. Junior OriolesThe U8 Sussex Flames played the younger U7 Milwaukee FC Junior Orioles this past weekend to a lopsided 13-1 victory. Six-year old Ella Bins and her older sister Maci combined for nearly half of all the points with four and two goals (respectively) and an assist for each. Haley Dwyer scored a hat-trick, Leah Balsbaugh had a pair of goals and Emma Faulstich and Madison Anderegg scoring one each. 9/24/11 - Flames clinical offense out pace Elm GroveThe sussex Flames and their incredible offense continue to amaze their fans as they watch them out score the Elm Grove Rockets 11-3. The first half the Flames move the ball down the feild as a team with quick footwork and great passes. Goals made by Soumya Dover (1), Haley Dwyer (1) and Madison Anderegg (2) quickly put the girls in the lead 4-1. The second half starts out with some amazing defensive moves by Ella Bins, helping to hold the Rockets to 1 goal. However, the Flames offense continues to strike hard when Leah Balsbough (1), Macie Bins (1), Roemary Eesley (1), Emma Faulstich (2), Hailey Dwyer (2nd), and Madison Anderegg (3rd) all score for the Flames. Excellent effort by all! 9/10/11 - Flames find success at start of Fall season with win over ThunderOn Saturday, the Flames and Thunder from the Sussex Soccer U8 program played their fall opener under blue skies with warm weather and a cool breeze. In the first half, the Flames enjoyed the majority of the possession and had many opportunities on offense. Goals by Madison Anderegg (2), Rosemary Eesley and Emma Faulstich gave the Flames a 4-0 lead at the break. The second half was more balanced with the Thunder finding their form and spending prolonged periods attacking the Flames’ net. Early in the third quarter their hard work paid off with a goal, narrowing the score to 4-1. The Flames responded by recommitting themselves on defense and capitalizing with many shots on goal when counter-attacking. They were rewarded with a fifth goal, the second for Faulstich, with Anderegg assisting. As full-time approached, both teams upped the intensity as the advantage shifted back and forth before Soumaya Drover took the ball deep into Thunder territory passing to Leah Balsbaugh for the goal. Great offensive plays were made by Ella Bins and Haley Dwyer and then the Flames immediately took advantage of a defensive error by Thunder and Balsbaugh got her second goal in 2 minutes to extend their lead 7-1 with a solo effort. The Flames closed out the match with a final goal by Macie Bins (Eesley, assist) giving a final score of 8-1 at the whistle. |
