Bryce Toy scored one shortly after. Danielle Kossow had an attempt at goal. Sacheen Tipnis had 2 attempts at goal through the game. Emmett Peters, Dane Petersen, Odin Kershaw and Preston Drake all played great defense. Thanks to Mr. Strohm for taking the time to coach the kids this season.

(10/15) The Lightning played BSA Dynamo at home. Bryce Toy was our team captain for the game. Sam Strohm started off as goalie for the first half. Sacheen Tipnis had our only goal of the game with an assist off of Bryce Toy. Preston Drake, Rachel Schmitz, Emmett Peters, Dane Petersen all played great defense. Odin Kershaw went in as goalie in the 2nd half and had a number of nice saves. Rachel Schmitz had two attempts at goal both with assists from Sacheen Tipnis. Danielle Kossow had a good attempt at goal with an assist from Sacheen Tipnis. She just didn't have enough power behind her foot. Bryce Toy is the outstanding player of the game. He had great defensive moves and was where he needed to be through out the game. The final score was 1 to 7.

(10/1) The Lightning traveled to Wales this weekend for their game against KMU Earthquakes.  Sam Strohm started off at goalie for the beginning of the 1st half.  Our defense start with Emmett Peters who consistently attacked the ball to keep it from the KMU scoring side of the field.  Dane Peterson had a good attempt at goal.  Bryce Toy had an attempt at goal as well in the first half.  Towards the end of the 1st half coach switched goalies and put Odin Kershaw in.  Odin had a number of very close saves.    To close out the 1st half, Sam Strohm had a great shot at goal, it just didn't go in.  To start off the 2nd half, Bryce Toy was in as goalie.  Sam Strohm had a few more attempts at goal.  Danielle Kossow, Rachel Schmitz and Preston Drake were great at defense. The final score was Lightning 0 and KMU Earthquakes 10.   The whole team played really well.  They  had some great passing and show unbelievable teamwork.  The team missed Sacheen Tipnis.

(9/24) The Lightning wasn't able to keep the winning streak going today.  With a final score of 3 to 6, they fell short to KMU Revolution.  Sam Strohm was our goalie for the 1st  half of the game and played great.  He attacked the ball and had a number of close calls but was able to protect our goal.   Odin Kershaw , Emmett Peters, Danielle Kossow and Rachel Schmitz once again held strong on defense.  Preston Drake has some good defensive moves and was able to move the ball down field.  Sacheen Tipnis scored 2 goals in the game (1 in the first half and 1 in the second half).  Sam Strohm scored a goal in the second half.  Odin Kershaw and Bryce Toy shared the position of goalie in the second half.  Our team captain for the game was Rachel Schmitz.  The player of the game goes to Bryce Toy.  Bryce was all over the field with some great defense.  He had a couple of hard plays in the game.  He was able to pick himself up and continued playing the game with a mission.  The whole team sure played hard!

(9/22) The Lightning had a great game against their favorite rivalry Sussex Cobras with a final score of 4 to 2.  Our team captain Sacheen Tipnis lead the team to our first victory of the season by scoring the first goal of the game with an assist by Dane Petersen.  Sam Strohm was our goalie for a majority of the game and had a number of great saves holding off the Cobras.  Odin Kershaw, Emmett Peters, Danielle Kossow, Preston Drake and Rachel Schmitz played both outstanding defense and had some great offensive moments.  Sacheen Tipnis had 3 total goals in the game.  Dane Petersen had 1 goal with an assist from Sacheen.  Sam Strohm was moved from goalie to defense later in the 2nd half and had a good attempt at goal.  Our player of the game goes to Sacheen Tipnis.  The team missed Bryce Toy at this game!

(9/17) The Lightning could not hold off the Genesee Wave with a final score of 5-0.  The team knew going into the game, down by two players (Odin Kershaw and Sacheen Tipnis) that it was going to be a hard game.  However, they held their own.  The game started with some great offense by Rachel Schmitz.  She had an attempt at goal as well as an assist to Bryce Toy who also had a good attempt at goal.  Sam Strohm was our goalie in the 1st half and had some great saves.  The 2nd half started with Bryce Toy at goal.  He did a great job holding off Genesee with a number of saves.  Dane Peterson and Emmett Peters started the defense off with a  couple take aways.   Dane, Sam and Danielle Kossow, together had about 2 attempts at goal in the 2nd half.  Our defensive player of the game goes to Preston Drake.  Genesee Wave kept attacking his side of the field and Preston was there to challenge them on every attempt.   It was a good game Lightning!

(9/10) With perfect weather for the start of the Sussex Soccer season, the Lightning could not hold back the BSA Revolution with a final score of 4 to 11.  The team started with some great defense by Sam Strohm, Emmett Peters, Dane Peterson, Rachel Schmitz and Preston Drake.  We had some 'nail bitting' offense moments with 6 attempts at goal from Sam Strohm, Bryce Toy, Sacheen Tipnis and Danielle Kossow.   Our first goal of the game was scored by Danielle Kossow in the first half of the game.   Her goal was followed up by Odin Kershaw hitting a goal in the 2nd half with an assist from Bryce Toy.  Sacheen Tipnis scored our final 2 goals of the game with an assist by Bryce Toy and an assist by Sam Strohm.  Everyone gave it their all.  It was a good game!
